Le dimore del Borgo
Welcome to our Guesthouse, Le Dimore del Borgo. We invite you to be part of an age-old tradition where hospitality has always been a priority.
Take time out to savour this magical place imbued with the peace and tranquillity of nature’s unchanging rhythms.
Our listed historic country house has seven guest rooms, each reflecting our family traditions. Our values are rooted in the silence, space and slow pace of the countryside.
The silence of the countryside. The slow pace of ancient farming practices, and the space of an Italian-style garden set in huge grounds where our guests can walk and enjoy the wild flowers, and perhaps catch a glimpse of a hare or roe deer.
Il Borgo del Balsamico has welcomed guests from all over the world.

The Rooms
The guest rooms of Le Dimore del Borgo welcome visitors who come to savour our beautiful countryside and the ancient peasant traditions that have produced the famous Balsamic Vinegar that has graced the table of kings.
Each room has been designed with the utmost care. A mix of ancient and modern furniture and fittings, they speak of who we are and how we live.
Our Borgo guest rooms are each as different and unique as you are.
Services included in the prize of a guest room: breakfast on the guesthouse portico looking out onto the garden; a guided tour of the Acetaia to learn how balsamic vinegar is produced.
During the summer, visitors can enjoy the wonderful garden and use the swimming pool.
Free Wi-fi is available throughout the house.
The room rate includes breakfast and a guided tour to the Acetaia with tasting.

The Centuries-old Garden and Grounds
Magestic trees like rare sophoras and sequoias, planted in the mid-19th century along with other species like oak, linden and horse chestnut, are a constant joy.
In May, a walk along the trellises and pergolas of our flowering old climbing roses is a fragrant and restorative experience.
The garden is a mix of organized and spontaneous areas. Flowering plants and bushes are interspersed with hundreds of rose bushes – English roses, old roses, sarmentose climbers, China, and wild roses – as well as hydrangeas, dahlias and peonies.
The Italian-style garden forms a backdrop to the greenhouse and our small private swimming pool, secluded by an old fruit tree orchard.

Testimonials
They say about us
“We had a wonderful time in this hidden gem. We stayed at the Beautiful Boule de Neige room, enjoyed home made breakfast with a view, spent a couple of lazy moments by the Poland enjoyed the balsamico tasting and experience very much. You feel welcomed as you would stay in a friend’s house. Thanks to Cristina’s tips we visited the Modern art collection of the old Max Mara factory, a real discovery. Don’t miss it! And do go for an Aperol Spritz in the old street of Reggio Emilia, much calmer than Parma or Modena and just as beautiful”
